Forever & A Day

So it's Friday - while I snuggle up with the babes & clean {now I know you all are jealous, I would be}, Melissa is here to take over my blog today!

And it's about drinks - what could possibly be better than that?

Happy Weekend :)
---------------------------------
Hi Friends!  My name is Melissa and I drink blog over at Forever and A Day.  While I'm not a heavy drinker by any means, I do love a good cocktail.  My love for mixed drinks started in college with the oh so classy jager bomb.  (Admit it, you've been there.)  From there, I started getting into other types of alcohol, namely vodka and tequila.  These friends have served me well, whether it was partying in college or drinks with coworkers as a real adult.
At The Stark Bar at the L.A. County Museum of Art
But then, something interesting started happening.  Around the time that I turned 23 years old, I realized that all those after work cocktails were starting to catch up with me.  Namely, in my tummy and thighs.  I did the math and quickly learned that I was consuming way too many extra calories with all of my sugar packed mixed drinks.

Thank goodness for Bethenny Frankel.  Whether you love her or hate her  (or don't even know who she is), I am forever grateful for the way she has revolutionized the booze business.  She is, my friends, the creator of the Skinnygirl Margarita.  And let me tell you, Skinnygirl is great for those of us who aren't exactly skinny.
Super excited to find Skinnygirl vodka
I was a fan of the margarita the first time I tried it.  I had one serving and was almost instantly buzzed.  Which is great, because you don't have to drink a lot of it, thus keeping the calorie content low.

Oh, but it doesn't stop there, Skinnygirl now makes a whole line of ready to pour cocktails, vodka, and wine!  Yes, WINE!  I would be lying if I said that I don't have 4 bottles of Skinnygirl products in my apartment at this very moment.

Bonus?  Even my husband likes them.

Oh yeah, I have a husband and a few cats and a well stocked liquor cabinet, and this here blog.  Won't you come by, sometime?  (Btw, this post was not at all endorsed by Bethenny or Skinnygirl cocktails... I'm just a super fan.  A super fan who has tickets to her talk show for this upcoming Thursday!)
A husband that makes the "blue steel" face with me on our wedding day

What's your favorite premixed cocktail?
Do you find that drinks screw up your diet?

I've been seeing all the SG commercials and I've been slowly making a resolution to try one (or three) flavors because I haven't yet! With the wedding (and all the stress that comes with it) behind me, I have a resolution to consume less calories and, hey, who can resist a drink or two every so often!
